Aharon Bernal’s Blockchain Platform Heralds a Fair New Era in E-Commerce

E-commerce today is characterized by the dominance of large online retail companies like Amazon, Alibaba, Wayfair, eBay and others. Amazon owns more than 40% of online retail in the United States, it remains the main sales channel for small and medium-sized sellers. By virtue of their market share, Amazon et al. possess their customers by taking a disproportionate cut from the selling price and imposing their rules. Unfair treatment results in opportunity costs for sellers.

Realizing that it was time to bring justice and fairer conditions to online commerce, Aharon Bernal, an active Amazon Marketplace seller and strong supporter of blockchain technology, created Safex.Market, a viable e-commerce alternative for small businesses. The fact that Safex.Market is blockchain-based makes it unique; it is able to offer its participants more advantageous conditions than those offered by the major marketplaces. Additionally, the platform only uses its own SafeXcash ($SFX) cryptocurrency, which is based on two coins: Safex Cash, the mineable currency used for purchases, and Safex Token, used for revenue sharing. Leveraging proprietary cryptocurrency and impenetrable blockchain, Bernal will ensure privacy and speed of transactions. It has set itself the goal of becoming one of the largest online marketplaces and encompassing up to one hundred countries. With this in mind, by the end of 2022, he expects his platform’s revenue to reach $100 million.

Seeing its mission to “give buyers the opportunity to support and engage with small business, … create a healthier transaction that facilitates trust and rapport between buyers and sellers as well as seller independence”, Bernal and his partners have given sellers a fair chance to compete with each other on the platform while growing their business in a more competitive and fair environment. While Amazon, according to Bernal, often tends to please the customer at the expense of the seller, its Safex.Market is also beneficial to both sides of the transaction.

Bernal is shaking up the world of e-commerce by bringing an ethical approach to online retail while creating a viable alternative to established monopolistic online market structures.
