GE Renewable Energy has invited applications for the position of Senior Commercial Finance Analyst.

The Chief Trade Finance Analyst assists the Trade Finance leader in India in driving the business strategy for the region and delivering the business plan. In addition, he/she will be responsible for improving business processes and ensuring compliance with trade finance guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in the finalization of the commercial strategy for the India region and its execution. Support commercial financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis while supporting regional sales/commercial teams. Provide analysis on competition, market share, contract loss analysis, etc.
  • Review of transactions in terms of financial and business risks and advice on mitigating actions. Analyze cash flow for new deals and advise on deal structuring and payment terms to maximize cash flow.
  • Perform effective credit rating assessment of potential customers, contractors and partners to mitigate financial risk and propose acceptable payment terms in contract to ensure payment security and improved cash flow
  • Own pace and trade finance close throughout weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews, provide on-demand analysis
  • Maximize deposits for new orders by supporting advance issuance of deposits and other documentation for deposit collection. Track payments received and performance against plan.
  • Own trade finance portfolio. Review trade finance instruments (bank guarantees/letter of credit) for new transactions and ensure compliance with trade finance guidelines. Work with commercial, operational and treasury teams for closing expired bank guarantees and reducing exposure.
  • Drive initiatives and partner with the commercial and operations team to reduce OWCs and late payments. Leverage ROE on OTR to ITO.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in finance/accounting. Previous GE Business Commercial Finance experience is a plus.
  • Experience working in a global business environment with a good understanding of global processes and transactional flows
  • Graduated from GE’s Financial Management Program (FMP) or graduated from another
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Clear thinking / problem solving: successful management of cross-functional projects / process improvement within operations / finance
  • Excellent communication skills: experience working at multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner, able to effectively convey a message both verbally and in writing
  • Strong computer skills: experience with financial systems and applications, Excel skills in data aggregation and compilation
